My idea of heaven!  Outside the wall is colourful Cuernavaca, a delightful, utterly "foreign" place to explore even if you haven't got enough Spanish to tell the Caballeros from the Damas!  (Ladies and Gents -  I found out eventually)

Inside the wall, a marble palace.  Cool tiles underfoot, great art on every wall, a courtyard with trees and swimming pool, a great host and a wonderful cook.
And every day for ten days, sharing a studio with fellow-minded artists making collage.  Learning new skills from a master, sharing ideas and enthusiasms.

Every day after breakfast at the Casa Del Artista, you either travel in Cecil's car or one of the hundreds of taxis (they, like everything in Cuernavaca, seem amazingly cheap) or you can walk to the studio.  I chose always to walk, finding a different route to explore every day.  Getting lost is no hassle -  the town is built on 7 ravines which all seem to funnel down into the centre.  So even though the street plan is a bit like a crazy maze, you eventually find your way.  Greeting everyone with a smile and Buenos Dias Senor, and you feel welcome.

Lunch is the main meal, and it's either Rosalia's terrific cooking back at
Casa Del Artista, or eating in the market or at one of the fabulous assortment of restaurants.  Try the sopa de ajo (garlic soup) at the Spanish restaurant.  Garlic soup to die for!

Back to the studio for more collage and talk till way into the night.  A great life.
Cecil and Rosalea are truly great hosts.  And Cecil is a really good teacher of collage.
I recommend the collage workshops extremely highly.  Those ten days were a real high point in my life.  With thanks.

For me the workshop was  an incredible experience ; it was a perfect blend of new culture, people, vivid color, fun adventures, excellent art direction and studio time.  Bravo!

My work was admired by all (here in Florida) and I took up probably too much of the class time talking about what a wonderful experience it was.

Cecil, I think you are doing an excellent job with the
International Collage Museum.

My time at the October workshop was ten days in Paradise. To be able to live so comfortably while working at an art one loves must be rated up there as a ten star experience. The joy of waking each morning to sunshine and breakfast and the ride through the streets of Cuernavaca to the studio (conservatory) is a golden memory. The days in the studio were exceptionally worthwhile. Your expertise and time and patience  are gifts to your students and we "3 little maids at school" received a bounty. We spent so much time together that I feel like a member of your family and I shall return hopefully after a few seasons pass here.
